Comments
Dear Nabil,
Thank you for this information on the religion for Batak Karo [btx] in Indonesia.
Ethnologue lists 2 religions for this language: Christianity and traditional religion. We can add "Muslim" as a third religion for Batak Karo. Is "traditional religion" prominent among the Batak Karo? I see in this article from Joshua Project that only Christians and Muslims are mentioned (https://joshuaproject.net/people_groups/18879/ID).
Best regards,
Charles Fennig
Managing Editor, Ethnologue
Christianity is the largest religion embraced by Karo people with around 70%, while Islam is adhered by around 30%.
Traditional religion called Pemena still exists among Karo people with significant number.
