The United Nations state that Edo has an "Officially Recognized Status" in "Bendel State, Nigeria"

https://www.ohchr.org/en/human-rights/universal-declaration/translations...

The issue is that this state doesn't exit anymore, it has been called like this from 1976 to 1991, date on which it has been split into into Delta State and Edo State.

Dear Olivier,

Thank you for this information on the officially recognized status conferred by the United Nations on the former Bendel state in Nigeria.

In the Ethnologue, official status of a language is the status conferred by the national constitution (or by provincial law) of the country (or province) where the language is spoken. Ethnologue does not record an official status accorded by outside entities, such as the United Nations.

Best regards,

Chuck Fennig
