tdfHello at Ethnologue,
The Talieng language record [tdf] states "unwritten" in the 'Writing' section.
However, the record also provides the information 'Dictionary' in the Language Develipment section.
What kind of dictionary is that? I do believe other than written dictionaries exists, but is this the case here?
Seasons greetings,

We will remove the dictionary from Talieng [tdf] for the next edition of the Ethnologue.

Comments
Dear Ralph,
Thank you for your question about the writing system/script for Talieng [tdf].
In this particular case, there is a problem in that the work being cited is not a dictionary. So, I will remove the "dictionary" from the Language Development area of this language for the next edition of the Ethnologue.
However, Ethnologue does not consider the existence of a dictionary or grammar as proof that a writing system is being used by the speakers of the language. There should be evidence that an orthography has been accepted and is being used by language speakers, at least in Scripture publications if not in vernacular literature or in primers and learning materials.
Best wishes,
Chuck Fennig
