I saw this comment on Wikipedia about the 34k: "first appears with this speaker population date. number in Burma is spurious - language didn't exist there"

Editorial Action

We will remove the ethnic population for Ralte [ral] in India (Ethnologue does not have this language spoken in Myanmar), for inclusion in the next edition of the Ethnologue.
