Editorial Action

We will change the status of Efai [efa] in Cameroon from Unestablished (Immigrant) to Indigenous, for inclusion in the next edition of the Ethnologue.

Dear Antoine,

Thank you for this information about the discrepancy in speaker population for Efai [efa] in Nigeria.

The Ethnologue database shows that Efai is also spoken in Cameroon, right across the Cross River delta from the group in Nigeria. The reason that Efai in Cameroon does not show up is because it has been erroneously labeled as an immigrant language with only 890 speakers.

I will change Efai's status in Cameroon to Indigenous ( and Established) so that it will show up in the next edition.
