The 2021 census registered 259 Saami speakers and 1,550 ethnic Saami in the Russian Federation. The census does not distinguish between the various Saami groups and lumps them all in one.

Dear Aleksandr,

Thank you for all the information that you have given us concerning the 2020 Russian census reports.

We have already entered all of this information that you are offering us from the census into the Ethnologue database. It will all be in the next edition of the Ethnologue, coming out in about one week from now.
