New data from the Census of Population, Houses and Dwellings 2021 in the Czech Republic
Currently Ethnologue lists data for Czech languages based on the census 2011. Below are the new numbers from census 2021.
Not sure if it is better to post this as a single contribution for the whole country or separate contributions per language. Please let me know which way is preferred, and I would appreciate if they are counted as separate contributions.
Persons with one or two mother tongues (persons with more mother tongues are counted in both mother tongues):
- Czech: 9,213,987
- Moravian dialects: 28,647
- Slovak: 225,246
- Polish: 49,669
- German: 31,756
- Roma: 28,102
- Russian: 96,361
- Vietnamese: 57,408
- Hungarian: 14,664
- English: 30,478

We will update the L1 speaker populations for the languages listed here in this 2021 census report for Czechia, for inclusion in the next edition of the Ethnologue.
