The linguistic borders between Moroccan Arabic, Algerian Arabic, and Tunisian Arabic seem to be the political borders between these countries.

Is it on purpose? Is it a mistake? Is it, in reality, more of a gradient?

We have contacted the Ethnologue cartographer, who has responded concerning these languages that follow the political borders on the map.

On this map the border between Hassaniya and Algerian Saharan Arabic follows exactly the Algerian border: https://www.ethnologue.com/map/DZMATN

This doesn't seem realistic. Is there any way to improve this border?
