Central Sinai
The map currently only shows the coasts of Sinai (Mediterranean, Gulf of Suez, Gulf of Aqaba). Should the central Sinai be shown as well? See de Jong (2011): A Grammar of the Bedouin Dialects of Central and Southern Sinai, and especially the maps in the Appendix: https://brill.com/display/title/18361
Or do we consider that central Sinai is too sparsely populated to be displayed on a map? (in the introduction p. 2, de Jong says: "The majority of Sinai’s inhabitants (the total was estimated at 360,000 in 2007) are found along the Mediterranean coast in the north")
No action taken.
Levantine Bedawi in Israel
The current map shows the whole territory of Israel, even though the location says: "Disputed territory east of Jerusalem on west bank of lower Jordan river and upper Dead sea, scattered."
This map only shows the Negev/South of Israel: https://joshuaproject.net/people_groups/13046/IS
Indeed, 70%+ of Israeli Bedouins live in the Negev:
- https://www.refworld.org/docid/5ba34aff7.html "The Bedouin are an indigenous people of the Negev desert in southern Israel"
- https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/the-bedouin-in-israel/ "Today the Bedouin are almost three percent of the population of Israel, but in the stark Negev desert Bedouin make up one out of every four residents."
- https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-bedouin-in-israel Also mentions that 10,000 Bedouins live in "Central Israel" and 50,000 in Galilee and the Jezreel valley
- https://www.beinharimtours.com/bedouins-in-israel/ "Israeli Bedouin live in small villages and ‘townships’ in the southern Negev desert. Essentially, this is a ‘triangle’ located between the outskirts of Beersheba, Israel’s gateway city to the south, and the small cities of Dimona and Arad." (confirmed by this map: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Map_of_Arabic_speaking_localities_in_... )

Map of Bedawi in Palestine
This map of Bedouin tribes in the West bank is better: https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-195392/
I don't know about the Gaza strip.

Population in Palestine
Current editions says: "28,300 in Palestine (2019)."
This source ( https://minorityrights.org/country/palestine/ ) says:
- "Minority groups include Bedouin who number around 27,000 people in Area C and 40,000 in the whole of the West Bank." ("Background" section) => So a total of 40,000 Bedouins in Palestine
- "Unlike the Bedouin in the Negev, those living in the West Bank are not Israeli citizens, but since the territory they live in is administered and controlled by the Israeli authorities, Israel has obligations to this community under international human rights and international humanitarian law. However, Bedouin communities have been repeatedly targeted with forcible relocations to poorly serviced townships to accommodate the growth of settlements from the outskirts of East Jerusalem. In May 2018, the Israeli High Court of Justice ruled in favour of the Ministry of Defense’s plan to demolish the entire Bedouin neighbourhood of Khan al-Ahmar Ab al Helu. The Court based the decision on the grounds that the homes had been built illegally under Israeli military law. However, the ruling ignored the fact that it is impossible for Palestinians to obtain permits to build in Area C. The residents were descendants of Bedouin who had been expelled from the Negev in 1953 and had relocated to the area, which at the time belonged to Jordan. Also to be demolished is a school that served about 170 children from five Bedouin communities. The community is near several Israeli settlements on the outskirts of East Jerusalem and stands in the way of a planned major expansion, intended to create a unified settlement area." ("Current issues" tab)
This source ( https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=P8yhCgAAQBAJ p.11) says 30,000 in the "Palestinian Authority", so probably excluding Bedouins in Area C.
This UN source ( https://www.un.org/unispal/document/auto-insert-195392/ ) says: "Most Bedouins in the oPt are originally from the Negev Desert. In the course of 1948, they fled or were displaced from their land. There are currently around 40,000 Bedouins in the oPt, most of which are refugees and displaced indigenous tribes that settled in areas suitable for their lifestyle around Jerusalem, Hebron, Bethlehem, and Jericho." (here oPt = "occupied Palestinian territory" "and specifically in Area ‘C’")
Being conservative, I would choose 40,000 as the current population in the whole of Palestine.
We will update the ethnic population for Eastern Egyptian Bedawi Spoken Arabic [avl] in Palestine, for inclusion in the next edition of the Ethnologue.
Population in Israel
210,000, according to this 2020 source: https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-bedouin-in-israel
220,000, according to this 2015 source (p. 11): https://books.google.com/books?id=P8yhCgAAQBAJ&q=25+million&redir_esc=y#...
The 2015 book seems to be a more reliable source so I would choose 220,000 for the current population of Levantine Bedawi in Israel.
We will add the ethnic population for Eastern Egyptian Bedawi Spoken Arabic [avl] in Israel, for inclusion in the next edition of the Ethnologue.
