Language Use

Home, gardens, village, ceremonies, religion. Some young people, all adults. Positive attitudes. Also use Ambonese Malay [abs], specifically a regional variety, in the home, garden, ceremonies; children are taught this variety first and later become proficient in the vernacular. Also use Indonesian [ind], primarily in government and Christian religious domains.
