Kajoor (Kajor), Ba’ol. Minor differences between dialects. Kajoor vocabulary is more influenced by Wolof [wol] and the Ba’ol by the Saafi-Saafi [sav] (Thornell et al 2017). 55% intelligibility of Ndut [ndv], 27% of Saafi-Saafi [sav]. Lexical similarity: 84% with Ndut [ndv], 74% with Saafi-Saafi [sav], 68% with Noon [snf] and Laalaa [cae], 22% with Serer-Sine [srr].

Home. Used by all. Positive attitudes. Most also use Wolof [wol], in interethnic situations but a number also among themselves. Some villages north of the national road have shifted to Wolof (Thornell et al 2017). Many also use Saafi-Saafi [sav] (Thornell et al 2017). Also use French [fra], mainly in official domains (Thornell et al 2017). Used as L2 by Saafi-Saafi [sav].
Often identified by themselves and the majority population as Serer which is a widely used name for a cultural or linguistic group which includes the Serer-Sine language and the 5 Cangin languages. Siili is the Paloor word for Serer. Muslim, traditional religion.
