Language Use

Carriacou is an English creole (1996 R. Kephart). The creole predominates in Grenada (Holm 1989:458). All informal domains. Used by all. Used as L2 by Lesser Antillean French Creole [acf].

Other Comments

Creole languages typically exist alongside their lexifier language. In such situations, a continuum forms of variations between the Creole and the acrolect. It is therefore difficult to substantiate the number of Creole speakers and English speakers.
