Dialects

Dupax del Sur, Aritao, Bambang. Aritao dialect is moribund (2019 L. Zubiri). Not similar to other languages. Lexical similarity: 47% with Ilocano [ilo].

Language Use

Some young people, all adults. Some adults and most children are likely to speak Ilocano [ilo] and Tagalog [tgl] (2019 L. Zubiri). Positive attitudes. Also use Ilocano [ilo], with basic proficiency. Also use Tagalog [tgl].

Language Development

Texts. The Isinay community has started working on a community-based revitalization program. Isinay is beingtaught as part of summer school but is focused more on cultural activities (2019 L. Zubiri).
