10 (2021 A. Bickford). Approximately 10–15 deaf at any one time. There is a hearing population of 250–500, many of whom also sign, but the exact number is unknown.

Oaxaca state: Tlacolula district, Santa Catarina Albarradas (also known as San Antonio Albarradas).

6a (Vigorous).

Language Use

LSAlb is used in many places in Santa Catarina Albarradas, wherever deaf and hearing people congregate, including the local evangelical church and a store run by a deaf family. Used by all. A few also use Spanish [spa]. Used as L2 by Santa Catarina Albarradas Zapotec [ztn].
