Language Use
Use of Iguta is more vigorous in villages further from Jos. Use of Hausa [hau] and English [eng] more typical in villages closer to Jos (Decker et al 2021a). Some of all ages. Used in most domains by most age groups in most of the villages, but in a few villages, it was reported that the parents are not teaching their children Iguta (Decker et al 2021a). Most also use Hausa [hau] (Decker et al 2021a). Also use English [eng], used in education (Decker et al 2021a).


‘Unaguta’ refers to a speaker. Christian, Muslim.
