Dialects

Nǀu, ǁAu (ǀ’Auni), ǁNg!ke (Ngǁ-ǀe, ǀIngǀke, ǁNg). The ǀ’Auni dialect has no remaining speakers. Reportedly similar to ǀXam [xam].

Language Use

Elderly only. Mixed attitudes. Some concerned that Nǀu is dying out, since youth have strong loyalty to Khoekhoe [naq]. Most shifted to Afrikaans [afr]. Most shifted to Khoekhoe [naq].
