10%–15% intelligibility of Santa María Acapulco (Central Pame) [pbs]. Subdialects include Agua Puerca and Cuesta Blanca.

SVO; pitch-accent; complex morphology.

Language Use

Northern Pame has more bilingualism than Central Pame [pbs] or Southern Pame [pmz], and only three or four villages where there are monolingual Pame-speaking children. Also use Spanish [spa].
