But the source (Guedri 2008) says the opposite: Levantine is falling into disuse in Brazil: https://repositories.lib.utexas.edu/handle/2152/20152
"In exploring three generations in the Lebanese-Brazilian community of São Paulo, Brazil, first-generation immigrants are believed to have more variability in their spoken Portuguese, with this variability extending to loanwords of Arabic origin. Subsequent generations are believed have less access to the Arabic language, and have less variability in their spoken Portuguese, however are expected to experience some influence of Arabic when perceiving and producing words of Arabic origin."Editorial Action
We will remove the speaker number change ("increasing") from North Levantine Spoken Arabic [apc] in Brazil for the next edition of the Ethnologue.

Comments
Dear Antoine,
Thank you for pointing out this problem with "increasing population" for North Levantine Spoken Arabic [apc] in Brazil.
Actually, the Guedri 2008 citation refers only to the 700,000 L1 population figure. The "increasing" population was already there and came from another source (Brazil audit in 2010). So, I will remove the "increasing" speaker number change.
Best wishes,
Chuck Fennig
