From the Chickasaw language page: "Oklahoma: Byng and Happyland (near Ada) north, Davis and Ardmore west, to Fillmore and Wapanucka east. California: Los Angeles."

Regrettably, my longtime collaborator Catherine Willmond died in Los Angeles in February, 10 days short of her 100th birthday. There are no longer any fluent speakers in the Los Angeles area, though three of her children here know a little.

Editorial Action

We will remove the reference to Los Angeles, California in the location of Chickasaw [cic] in the United States, to be changed in the next edition of the Ethnologue.
