None known. Related to Mpade [mpi], Maslam [msv], Malgbe [mxf], Mser [kqx], and Lagwan [kot].

Language Use

Most also use Chadian Spoken Arabic [shu]. Some also use French [fra], as language of public education. Used as L2 by Musgu [mug], Shuwa Arabic [shu].

Other Comments

‘Mandage’ is used by the Kotoko to refer to either the northern group of Kotoko languages (Mpade, Afade, Maslam, Malgbe) or the Kotoko group as a whole (including Mser and Lagwan as well). Muslim.
