Dialects

Sidbi (Andik, Sidbi Degenang, Sitbi), Degenang. Related to Asaro’o [mtv], Muratayak [asx], Gamane [bmp], Forak [frq], Guya [gka], Gwahatike [dah], and Tandɨ [ygm].

Language Use

In Seure, many children only speak Tok Pisin [tpi]. In Sel, children grow up speaking Tok Pisin [tpi], but eventually learn to speak Degenang [dge]. Some young people, all adults. All also use Tok Pisin [tpi], with some youth shifting.
